I am currently building a comprehensive collection of resources and instructions for lost pet recovery and prevention.
This will include information on:
- Books pertaining to finding lost pets, dog behavior, cat behavior, wildlife, scent and search dogs.
- How to use online maps to facilitate an effective search.
- How to create effective lost pet posters.
- Where to post your lost pet online.
- Purchasing and using a surveillance camera (i.e. trail, wildlife or game camera).
- When and how to use a feeding station.
- Links to websites on lost dog and cat behavior.
- When and how to use a humane trap.
- Links to online services for finding lost pets such as:
- Consultations from pet detectives
- Phone call alerts
- Post card creation and/or distribution
- Search dogs
- Support groups & inspirational websites
- Lost pet prevention devices such as radio-tracking and GPS tags.
Currently the Instructions include information on trapping and using surveillance cameras. The resources are free, but the instructions are password protected. Access to instructions is free with any phone consultation from Compassionate Pet Services. The password will also be provided to anyone who makes a small donation on the Lost Pet Research & Recovery or Compassionate Pet Services websites. You just need to specify in the donation that you would like the password.
