Cat Behavior Books and Webinars
Tawzer Dog Videos has a small selection of webinars on cat behavior, which include recorded seminars on socialization of fearful and feral cats.
These are some of my favorite books on cat behavior. These are more technical and can be challenging to read, especially The Domestic Cat: the Biology of its Behavior.
These books are easier reads, but still informative. Cat versus Cat is especially helpful for understanding cat interactions, and it also provides practical information for reintroducing a lost cat to its housemates, which can prove to be challenging.
Johnson-Bennett, Pam. 2004. Cat vs. Cat: Keeping the Peace When You Have More Than One Cat. Penguin Books.
Tabor, Roger. 2003. Understanding Cat Behavior. David & Charles.
Beadle, Muriel. 1977. The Cat: History, Biology and Behavior. Simon & Schuster.
Books on Lost Cats and Human Behavior
These books are not so much about lost cat behavior as they are about human behavior when a cat goes missing. Since this is an integral part of lost cat recovery, I recommend reading both books.
Paul, Caroline. 2013. Lost Cat: A True Story of Love, Desperation, and GPS Technology. Bloomsbury.
Davidson, Nancy. 2013. The Secrets of Lost Cats: One Woman, Twenty Posters, and a New Understanding of Love. St. Martin’s Press.
